Cut 1 of docs/addressables-cut.md: com.unity.addressables becomes a
direct manifest dependency (was transitive via com.unity.localization),
Addressables settings are created with BuildWithPlayer forced instead of
left as a per-user preference, and Assets/Content is added to the
Default Local Group as the one folder entry Cut 2 will populate (Q1
ruling A). No code loads through Addressables yet and the folder is
empty, so this lands harmlessly on its own.

The 6000.3 serializer adds its default fields (iOS thermal FPS limits,
androidDisplayOptions, metalUseMetalDisplayLink,
switchGraphicsJobsSyncAfterKick, m_UseUCBPForAssetBundles) on first open. No
setting changes value; this finishes the upgrade so every editor open stops
dirtying the files.

Editor-driven upgrade from 6000.1.10f1: patch-level package bumps,
importer re-serialization of legacy .meta files, and the regenerated
Input System wrapper. Verified by playing from Main Menu into ARPG.

Removed hard zone boundaries
Fixed stuff that broke because of hard zone boundary assumption (stardust placement, vertical fog)
Added a skybox!
Removed density-based albedo boost (_TintExponent) to improve perceptual uniformity at different step sizes, reconfigured shader to achieve / surpass previous looks and performance
Cell Brush has a material editor now to enable variant selection
Enabled Caching Shader Preprocessor
Moved raymarching loop into CloudShader
Get environment settings from game manager to enable configuration / variation
Introduced slope-based nebulae damping and volumetric flow
Hid optional volumetric features behind preprocessor branches
Created shader variants selected by global keywords for all shaders depending on volumetrics
Environment settings used to configure shader variant selection
Moved dynamic lighting settings to own subclass
Dynamically adjust gravity map isoline contour depth range according to zone contents
Improved volumetric flow performance by orders of magnitude
Cleaned up old raymarching support code
Moved asteroid height calculation to vertex shader
Manual culling for asteroid field render update
Converted remaining .blend files to .fbx
Type check safe cast operator broken in DictionaryInspector? Wrote around it
UI Materials not blending properly - fixed by switching to Fade transparency mode
Applied nebula lit shader to "planets" and asteroids
Modified gas giant shader to accept nebula lighting and to be a bit less crappy in general
Fixed raymarching depth sampling perspective distortion
Replaced Unity TAA with PlayDead TAA
Custom keyboard layout test scene
Adjusted Aetheric Drive VFX to be more subtle
Reworked stardust VFX to reduce flickering artifacts
Added Action Bar & weapon groups saving/loading
Implemented security levels and faction safe zone visualization
Improved station placement (now include defensive turrets)
Fixed: unable to undock with an aetheric drive (game requires locomotion)
Entities have a chance of dropping any item on board when killed
Mine behavior generalized to grid objects, used in dropped loot
Added tractor beam (not itemized yet) which pulls in nearby loot (and mines!)
Items are added to player inventory when they collide with the ship (and mines explode!)
Added console command to spawn turret
DatabaseCache now reads and stores entry types marked ExternalEntry from separate files in their own folder
Updated name file cleaning code and re-cleaned name files
Disabled planet generation (very slow)
Fixed wormhole traversal - can now explore galaxy
Added faction allegiance matrix and slider inspector code
Added sector map in Galaxy tab of in-game menu
Added player flag to Ship (replaces AGM.PlayerEntities)
Refactored sector map to depend on AGM
Moved sector generation to main menu
Main menu now supports resuming previous playthrough
Database and player settings now statically available via AGM
AGM saves current game state in PlayerSettings on exit
Sector generation is now asynchronous
Added progress callbacks to sector gen + progress dialog in menu
Confirmation Dialog / properties panel can now display dynamic text entry
Added zone title to Zone map
Eliminated ZoneData class (properties moved to ZonePack)
Sector, Zone and Entity serialization now fully functional
Entity settings now separate from player settings
Cleaned up old unused networking message classes
Name files now integrated with database cache
Added ability to save/load additive DB cache files in database panel
Cleaned up Wwise sound setup - removed redundant items & fixed spelling errors
Deleted Wwise cache + added to .gitignore
Fixed Laser cancelling bug
Fixed Turrets not activating
Added ability to bind player perspective to orbital entities
Added Markov Chain name generator + Australian place name dataset
Modified old "galaxy" shader to serve as sector background
Implemented Cem Yuksel's Weighted Sample Elimination for Poisson Disk Sample Sets
Created sector generator which places sectors using WSE
Created wwise project
Integrated inventory UI sounds
Improved projectile weapon behavior (randomized start position, stopped them from self-destructing at target range when airburst is disabled)
Converted entity materials to new fade shader
Implemented visibility system
Refactored per-instance entity code to run inside monobehavior on entity instances
Created state machine AI for enemy ships with basic patrol and combat routines
Removed legacy AI code (controller item behaviors)
Added automatic trigger group assignment for matched weapons
Created ship collision system
Created shield VFX and colliders
Removed universal GameContext references
Refactored GameContext: It's now only responsible for item management. As such it's now called ItemManager
GlobalData is gone, relevant settings are distributed amongst specialized settings classes
Entities are no longer database entries, references to them are now direct - Zone is reponsible for storing them in ZonePacks
Controller subtypes are now generic classes, class argument is task type
Inventory is now a 2D grid instead of a list
Entity temperature is now a 2D grid instead of a number
Item sizes are now arbitrary shapes instead of a number
Hardpoints are now arbitrary shapes instead
Equipped items have their own temperatures
Map view now displays sunlight colors
Integrated Allegorithmic Substance Plugin
Imported Djinni ship and assigned Substance materials
Removed Node Editor framework (might come back later but needs work to integrate with behavior system)
