- Treat visual continuity notes as tool/reviewer constraints, not prompt text.
If imagegen needs the fact, rewrite it as concrete visible description in the
base prompt, character ref, or branch/state modifier.
- Treat generated environment images as concept and material reference, not
spatial truth. Multi-angle or branch-consistent illustrated IF needs a durable
scene-set source such as a hand-built blockout, procedural scene file, layout
asset, or camera map. Imagegen can paint over camera-specific visual input;
it should not be asked to preserve room topology from a prior generated
image or text memory.
- Ground scene writing in the source's material details: habitat form,
infrastructure, law, class pressure, money, route access, surveillance,
communication channels, body affordances, and local failure costs.

# Illustrated IF Visual Pipeline
Illustrated interactive-fiction fixtures can use image generation for mood,
presentation, and website replay. They should not treat image generation as the
source of spatial truth.
## Role
The visual pipeline has four separate jobs:
1. Describe the playable visual beat in the Ink and `.visual.json` artifact.
2. Preserve the intended environment, character, and branch state as structured
visual data.
3. Provide image models with enough concrete visible detail to render the beat.
4. Keep generated art useful as presentation collateral without letting it
rewrite scene geometry.
Visual artifacts are auxiliary replay and website value. They are not core
training targets for responder, appraiser, mutator, relationship, or social
state models.
## Geometry Authority
For scenes where spatial continuity matters across angles, branches, or later
callbacks, the authoritative visual source is a `scene_set` artifact, not a
generated image.
A `scene_set` may be a hand-built 3D blockout, a procedural scene file, a
layout diagram, or another durable geometry asset. It should define:
- Environment layout and scale.
- Named zones, routes, entrances, exits, and occluders.
- Fixed cameras or camera-slot names for replay beats.
- Character staging slots and allowed movement regions.
- Important props, access points, interfaces, and branch-visible state anchors.
- Which parts of the set are visible from each camera.
Generated environment concept art can inspire the set, but it is not a reliable
layout contract. Image models routinely invent impossible joins, inconsistent
occlusion, false loops, and locally plausible machinery that cannot be staged
from a second angle.
Agent-assisted set construction may live in a separate toolchain such as
VibeGeometry. Ghostlight only requires the resulting durable geometry input and
the metadata needed to connect it to fixture scenes.
## Prompt Assembly
Prompt assembly should use the geometry source appropriate to the fixture:
- Mood concept only: text prompt may be enough.
- Single isolated illustration: a complete standalone prompt may be enough.
- Multi-scene illustrated IF: use `.visual.json` scene ids, character refs, and
branch modifiers.
- Multi-angle or branch-consistent illustrated IF: use a `scene_set` render or
blockout for each camera angle, then apply the scene prompt as painterly
direction.
For the multi-angle path, the image model acts as a painter and material
interpreter. It does not decide the room shape.
## Base Images And Modifiers
Base prompts describe a complete visible frame. Modification prompts describe
only the branch or state delta, but the edit call must receive the base image or
the camera-specific blockout as visual input.
Do not rely on phrases such as "same room" or "as before" unless the edit input
actually supplies the same room. If the image model only receives text, restate
the visible geometry. If it receives a blockout, the prompt should still name
the visible anchors it must preserve.
## Reviewer Expectations
The visual reviewer should ask whether the current fixture needs a `scene_set`.
It should require one when:
- The story returns to the same room from multiple angles.
- Branches move characters around a shared environment.
- Sightlines, occlusion, route access, or body affordances affect choices.
- The same space needs website imagery across several beats.
- A generated concept image is being used as if it were a durable floor plan.
When a `scene_set` is required but missing, the fixture can still be accepted as
prose or IF scaffold, but not as replay-ready illustrated IF.

# Pallas Service Ring Kappa Environment Overview Prompt v2
Use case: stylized-concept
Asset type: environment form study for illustrated interactive fiction
Primary request: Generate a clear environmental form study of Service Ring Kappa: a single-level industrial service loop around a dense central machinery island.
Style/medium: clean science-fiction environment concept art, clear hard-surface forms, readable spatial layout, semi-realistic industrial materials, unlabeled concept-art presentation.
Composition/framing: wide three-quarter cutaway view from slightly above the work floor. Show one continuous service loop around one central machinery island. The view should make the floor plan easy to understand: outer staging path, inner manifold face, central equipment island, raised supervisor gallery, small access mouths, and service arteries entering deeper shell layers.
Scene/backdrop: The space is a single-level industrial maintenance loop built into a curved habitat shell. The floor and outer wall curve subtly. Manufactured ribs, shell plating, pipe trunks, cable trays, pressure housings, scuffed deck plates, and dark substrate are visible. The ceiling is continuous over the room. The central machinery island rises from floor to ceiling and visually blocks the far side of the loop.
Environment layout:
- Center: one dense floor-to-ceiling machinery island, packed with valve racks, pressure equalization housings, coolant exchange units, sensor cabinets, thick pipes, ribbed pressure casings, and amber maintenance screens.
- Inner edge of the loop: maintainable manifold faces mounted directly on the central machinery island, with gasket-rimmed access ports, removable patch plates, pressure gauges, diagnostic panels, warning lights, handholds, and cable bundles.
- Outer edge of the loop: worker staging zone with a bolted anchor rail, sliding rail blocks, floor sockets, heavy hooks, clipped tethers, rescue lines, tool lockers, carts, and a narrow break ledge.
- Above only one primary segment of the loop: a short raised supervisor gallery behind glass, connected to the work floor by one visible stair. It overlooks only the near manifold segment because the central machinery island blocks the far side.
- Service arteries: several small dark access mouths enter the central machinery island from the inner manifold face, then continue into deeper shell layers through visible pipe tunnels and inspection cavities.
- Cephalopod mobility gear: a compact wall rack and floor clips hold mobile dry-operation harness gear near the access mouths: coiled oxygenation tubes, small humidity cartridges, folded flexible body loops, pressure cuffs, tool rolls, and charging sockets. The harness gear is portable equipment for workers who move autonomously through human spaces and tight service arteries.
Lighting/mood: utilitarian industrial calm. Amber maintenance lights, cold blue supervisor screens, small green and red equipment indicators, faint haze, worn metal, patched infrastructure.
Color palette: dark graphite shell, deep blue-gray TCS, amber work lights, cold corporate blue, worn yellow-white safety stripes, muted brown-orange equipment paint, clean gray utility panels.
Materials/textures: ribbed shell supports, scuffed deck plating, bolted steel rail, scratched glass, flexible tubes, folded harness loops, translucent oxygenation lines, old tool lockers, patched cable insulation, dark aggregate substrate.
Constraints: The frame is an empty environment study containing infrastructure and equipment. The cephalopod gear appears as compact folded mobile harness equipment on a wall rack and floor clips. The room has one continuous single-level service loop around one floor-to-ceiling machinery island. The supervisor gallery is a short raised segment overlooking the near side. All machinery is physically connected to floor, ceiling, wall, or the central island. The image should clearly communicate the physical form of the room.
