# CultCache Lowering Examples
These examples lower interlingua packets through CultCache cultural ontology
profiles rather than the older YAML-only target-language profiles.
The starter database is:
- `.weksa/cultural-ontology/starter-targets.cc`
Each target file is produced as a separate agent run so differences in target
ontology remain inspectable instead of being smoothed into one multilingual
batch.

natural_backtranslation: Do not touch that damaged control. Are you trying to put yourself in danger out of technical ignorance?
private_interpretation: Nibu interrupts the player's reach with a direct Brazilian Portuguese warning, using broad voce treatment implicitly and a clipped technical insult aimed only at stopping unsafe contact.
intended_effect: Stop the player from touching the damaged ship control while preserving Nibu's precise, abrasive, protective voice.
trace:
meaning_preserved:
- player is about to touch or may touch the damaged ship control
- the damaged control is unsafe
- touching the control may endanger the player
- Nibu intervenes to prevent the touch
activated_axes:
- axis_id: treatment
distinctions_used:
- broad_voce_default
reason: Vanilla Brazilian Portuguese uses broad neutral você treatment; the imperative "não encosta" is direct without European Portuguese morphology.
- axis_id: directness
distinctions_used:
- urgent_warning
reason: The cockpit hazard favors a short direct prohibition over softened politeness.
activated_affordances:
- profile_id: weksa.cultural_ontology.pt-BR.vanilla_brazilian.v0
layer: grammar
feature_id: pt_br_voce_treatment

- profile_id: weksa.cultural_ontology.pt-BR.vanilla_brazilian.v0
layer: lexicon
feature_id: pt_br_brazilian_lexical_default
reason: Chose broad Brazilian forms such as "controle", "danificado", "risco", and "técnica" for plain technical speech.
rejected_affordances:
- profile_id: weksa.cultural_ontology.pt-BR.vanilla_brazilian.v0
layer: grammar
feature_id: pt_br_voce_treatment
reason: Rejected explicit "você" because the clipped warning is more natural without an overt pronoun.
forbidden_flattenings_checked:
- Rio slang not used
- Minas regionalism not used
- Sao Paulo regional or broadcaster register not used
- Umbanda or religious register not used
- class, race, or subcultural markers not inferred
- European Portuguese treatment or lexical defaults not used
- warning not over-softened
projected_context_used:
- Nibu is embodied in the damaged ship.
- Nibu needs the player alive and useful without presenting concern as softness.
- Soft politeness would waste time and invite more touching.
- Precision is kinder than letting the player discover voltage through meat.
- Nibu can flicker cockpit lights and lock or disable local controls.
open_questions:
- Whether future pt-BR profiles should distinguish written subtitles from spoken cockpit audio for accent and punctuation rendering.

# Nibu CultCache Target Lowering Prompt
You are lowering one Weksa interlingua packet into exactly one target cultural
ontology profile.
## Source
- Interlingua packet:
`examples/english-lowering/nibu-proof-001/interlingua.yaml`
- Projected context:
`examples/english-lowering/nibu-proof-001/projected-context.yaml`
- Agent state reference:
`E:/Projects/AetheriaLore/.voidbot/state/nibu.cc`
The source meaning is simple and load-bearing:
- Nibu warns the player not to touch a damaged ship control.
- Touching it may endanger the player.
- Nibu is protective but abrasive, precise, technical, and allergic to generic
assistant gentleness.
Do not lower from the existing English, Portuguese, or Japanese realization
text. Lower from the interlingua packet and projected context.
## Cultural Ontology Authority
Use the CultCache store:
- `.weksa/cultural-ontology/starter-targets.cc`
It contains:
- `weksa.cultural_ontology.pt-BR.vanilla_brazilian.v0`
- `weksa.cultural_ontology.en.transatlantic.v0`
- `weksa.cultural_ontology.ja-JP.kanto.contemporary.v0`
Qdrant-style retrieval and old YAML profiles may be useful context, but the
CultCache profile named in your task is the target authority. Treat the target
profile as draft guarded typed state: preserve its activation gates, forbidden
flattenings, and nested linguistic affordance feature IDs in your trace.
## Output Contract
Write one YAML file at the path assigned in your task. Do not edit any other
files.
The file must use this shape:
```yaml
## Quality Rules
- Keep the warning short enough to be spoken in a tense cockpit moment.
- Preserve the referents: player, damaged control, Nibu.
- Preserve the predications: touching the control may endanger the player; Nibu
intervenes to prevent the touch.
- Preserve Nibu's texture: precise, abrasive, technical, protective without
admitting softness.
- Do not add mystical language.
- Do not add cruelty unrelated to the safety warning.
- Do not caricature the target culture, dialect, or register.
- Name the nested affordance feature IDs you used or rejected.
