Rust: a store cut short is refused by a rewrite, never taken for a legacy file ...
store_header returned None for any bytes it could not walk, so push_all read a truncated
variant store as legacy and overwrote it v1. It now proves the file is one complete
MessagePack value first (an error otherwise, the rewrite refuses and leaves the file), then
reads the header from the prefix; the reader's own header read no longer walks to the end.
