Meta Vens 4d3cabec5a Imagination pass 4: interval-ops r3. The frustum ball widened by its derived float32 bound, the analytic constant-density body, one shipped void (Q9), (c) held to 90% of its ceiling, LOD weights exercised, Stryker kills demonstrated
Resolves Soul's five findings on cut-interval-ops.h2 and carries the rulings
operator-wells-contract-vs-ceiling and operator-analytic-wall-body. glsl-lowering
r2 and site-ground r3 now depend on interval-ops r3; the site-ground spec names
the one shipped void with (Rc, e) derived from (Rh, S) and the body-start word.

"Follow-up on cut report cultmath-tapes:cut_report:cut-interval-ops.h2 (head 43183276, worktree F:\\Projects\\CultLib-iv) and Soul's verdict cultmath-tapes:verdict:cut-interval-ops.s1 with its five findings, each resolved below in order. New rulings in force: operator-wells-contract-vs-ceiling ((c)'s contract is at least 90% of the probe-free ceiling, not 2x) and operator-analytic-wall-body (where the envelope interval proves the density constant, one closed-form Beer-Lambert step). Map: docs/cultmath-interval-ground-cut.md, 'Pass 4'. r2's ops, field models, tile march and scenarios stand; this revision touches math.Interval.cs, both tracked CultMath.Interval.hlsl copies, NoiseBoundTests.cs, SnoiseBall tests in the same file, design.md and README only. Nothing new in src beyond the radius widening.",
"Finding 1, frustum-ball-float-crossing (Medium). The ball is widened, in C# and both HLSL copies: radius += (|c.x| + |c.y| + |c.z| + radius) * 2^-20 (the literal 9.5367431640625e-7, exact in float32), after the r2 radius. Derivation, u = 2^-24: the centre c = (m_c z_m, z_m) carries at most two roundings per component (z_m = fl(z0 + z1) * 0.5, then the product), so |c_float - c_exact| <= 2u |c|_1; the radius carries at most seven first-order roundings (z1 - z0; the axis sqrt at 3u; the product; z1 * footprint; the sum; + warp), so r_exact <= r_float (1 + 7u); the widening's own addition rounds once more. 2^-20 = 16u covers 8u (|c|_1 + r) twice over. fma contraction removes roundings and only tightens, so dxc's HLSL and any driver's GLSL stay covered. The sentence 'the two vectors are never parallel, so the inequality is strict and float32 cannot cross it' leaves math.Interval.cs:179-180, the HLSL and design.md:412; the rule and its derivation take its place.",
"(Finding 1, continued.) TileBallEnclosesEveryRaySegment gains Soul's extreme families beside the r2 domain, 2,000 cases each, 8 footprint corners at both depth ends with the flow pointed outward along the corner's direction from the centre, the distance computed in double from the float ball and the float ray (point (m z, z) formed in double from the float m and z), no tolerance: z0 == z1; thin (z1 - z0 = 1e-6 z1); |m_c| up to 1000; far (z up to 1e7); z0 = 0 with z1 down to 1e-3; f down to 1; warp up to 1e6. The derivation pin becomes two-sided: r_exact <= ball.w <= r_exact + 2^-19 (r_exact + |c|_1), r_exact in double, so a ball that forgets the widening fails and a ball that grows past the rule fails. The hand mutations of r2 stay; a fourth, the widening dropped, must fail the degenerate family alone. WarpedPointsStayEnclosed is unchanged.",
"Finding 2, aetheria-far-plane-miscited (Low). FogField's grid becomes Quadratic(0.3, 2048, 256), cited as the Main Camera (Aetheria d3075eb0 Assets/Scenes/ARPG.unity:31777 m_Name Main Camera, :31830 far clip plane 2048; VolumeCloudRenderer.cs:36 RequireComponent(Camera)); the comment at NoiseBoundTests.cs:594 no longer names the Tint camera's 1000. Soul re-measured (c) at far 2048: 1.39-1.51x at warp D, 2.46-2.74x at warp 0, ceiling within 1-2% of the ratio; the verdict on (c) does not move. Print every (a)-(c) row again at 2048.",
"Finding 3, shipped-void-two-scenes (Medium). ONE shipped void, authored as (Rh, S) per the map's own rule, everything else derived; the map, the site-ground r3 spec and the test agree on it: Rh = 198, S = 50, so Rc = Rh + S = 248 and e = -ln CARVE / ln(1 - (Rh / Rc)^2) = 0.40 (CARVE 1.5); fade band [Rh - S, Rh], A = 20, F0 = 0.01, D = 10, K = 1/30. This is the scene r2 measured (2.21x) and the Footprint-LOD rule's; the map's site section (Rc 640, e 4, a 442-wide ramp) was the other scene and is superseded. The honest choice changes the look (a 50-wide noisy wall with a kinked outer edge, not a soft pseudo-Gaussian wall), so it is Q9 in the map, a fork for the operator with (a) recommended. Hands codes (a); another ruling moves only the shipped constants and the site section. VoidField's doc comment derives (Rc, e) from (Rh, S) and names it the one shipped void.",
"Finding 4, lod-weights-never-exercised (Low). VoidField takes a focal length. One configuration reaches the weights: '(e) LOD far' Rh = 4000, S = 50, camera low, f = 467 (1080 rows at a 98 degree vertical FOV): theta = 1/467, so the fine weight (wavelength 25) is below 1 past z = 1460 and 0 past 2920, the coarse weight (100) below 1 past 5840, and the grid (|camera - c_v| + Rc + 6/K, about 7990) reaches both; 4 z theta exceeds 12.5 past z = 1460, so LodStep is footprint-set there too. It joins EnvelopeBoundEnclosesDensity's field list (the truncated check is no longer vacuous) and the saving test prints it, not asserted. Hand mutation that must fail the truncated check on it: w(z0) for w(z1) in WeightBound.",
"(Finding 4, continued: the deviation.) Recorded in the test's doc and design.md: the bound takes each octave weight over [w(z1), 1], not the spec's [w(z1), w(z0)], because one Bound serves the full field (w = 1) and the truncated one (w in [w(z1), w(z0)], w decreasing in z). [w(z1), 1] contains both, iv_mul is monotone in its interval argument, so the composed interval is a superset of either field's and encloses both. The slack is only in far tiles whose step the footprint already sets.",
"Finding 5, stryker-timeout-survivor (Low). Mutant 2525 (iv_sqr a.x >= 0 to a.x > 0) is equivalent: at a.x == 0 both branches return the same ends ((0, h) either way, (0, 0) when a.y == 0); the report says so by its diff, since numbers are per run. New enclosure cases kill the mirror-only survivors semantically: SnoiseBallEnclosesPoints and FbmBallEnclosesPoints draw radii LogUniform(1e-3, 1e3), so L / r in iv_snoise_ball (too tight once r > 1: at r = 100 the mutant's bound is 0.2 wide while snoise over the ball spans [-1, 1]) dies to an enclosure test, not only to the HLSL mirror. The mutants Soul listed as mirror-only (iv_scale s >= 0 to s > 0; the two iv_abs mutants) are hand-run and each either named equivalent with the one-line argument (signed zero or a boundary both branches map alike) or killed by one added point case in IntervalTests.",
"(Finding 5, continued.) Stryker runs again as r2 did, --since:43183276; every timeout in math.Interval.cs is hand-run (patch from the mutation report, dotnet test minus IntervalSkipHalvesEvaluations) and the report lists killed, survived and equivalent by diff. The report claims only demonstrated kills; a timeout is not a kill.",
"The analytic body (ruling operator-analytic-wall-body), consumer-side in the test and the site, no new CultMath function. When it applies: the Scenario's Bound over the remaining range [z, z_end] of the grid, gated, is a point interval with positive value: the envelope with the free noise interval [-1.5, 1.5] (coverage in [-1, 1] plus half the detail) proves fade = 1 and d_lo + A (fade n)_lo >= Rc, so every point of every ray of the tile over the rest of the grid has density exactly K for any noise value; or, generically, lo == hi > 0 from whichever path the bound took. Only then does the march integrate T *= exp(-K ext (z_end - z) |dir|) in one step and terminate (the grid end is past opacity by construction). For (a)-(d) no Bound is a positive point (the fog's density varies with s'), so the step never applies there, and the test asserts bodyStart = -1 for every (a)-(d) tile.",
"(Analytic body, continued.) MarchTile returns (dense cells, bodyStart, bodyDensity). As r2 on cell ranges; when a single cell is found not provably empty and its own gated bound is a positive point (the cell is provably constant), one more probe over [grid[j], grid[^1]]: if that is a positive point too, bodyStart = j, bodyDensity = its value, and every remaining cell is appended dense without probing (adding cells is always sound; it also drops the body's probes). The mask's meaning is unchanged, so the masked fixed-step march's exact agreement with the reference stands as the soundness pin. MarchLod: inside unmasked runs as r2; on reaching a cell >= bodyStart it takes the one analytic step over [z, grid end], counts one step, and stops.",
"(Analytic body, the grid end.) Every void configuration's grid ends at |camera - c_v| + Rc + 6/K (was 5/K): the body starts at d >= Rc + A 1.5 = Rc + 30 plus box slack, so 6/K leaves at least 4.9 of optical depth, T <= 0.0075 < 0.02, and 'unfinished rays 0' still prints. This is the grid end, not the field; the reference stops by opacity and its count does not move.",
"(Analytic body, the pin.) New test AnalyticBodyMatchesFineMarch over the (e) grid, the shipped void and the LOD-far configuration, 2,000 seeded tiles at N in {1, 4, 8, 16}: (1) wherever MarchTile reports bodyStart b: the Bound over [grid[b], grid end] is a positive point; the full and the truncated Density at 64 random (pixel, sub-pixel, cell >= b, depth in cell) points equal bodyDensity exactly, no tolerance; (2) the analytic factor exp(-bodyDensity ext L) over the body equals the fixed-step product of the body cells' Integrate factors (no early-out, same cells) within 1e-4 relative; (3) for every (a)-(d) tile bodyStart = -1. Hand mutation that must fail (1): in VoidField.Compose, CarveRadius for HollowRadius in the lo test (the body claimed from the ramp). The site's mirror of this (site-ground r3): the pre-pass writes the body-start cell in the texel's fourth word, the main pass takes the same one step; its browser check is the dense-reference agreement already in that spec.",
"Contracts after r3, asserted at N = 8 in IntervalSkipHalvesEvaluations, else one Assert.Skip naming saving-2x-scenarios with every shortfall: (a) at least 2x combined cost (the lower of warp 0 and D), measured 16384x. (c) at least 0.90 of its probe-free ceiling (Ratio / Ceiling, the lower of warp 0 and D), measured 0.99 at warp D and 0.96 at warp 0 in r2; the ruling's reading is that the ceiling is what intervals control and the fog band's cost is the field's. (e) at least 2x fewer LOD steps per pixel than the fixed-step reference at the ONE shipped void (200 tiles), the masked fixed-step march agreeing exactly and the LOD march within 0.02 of the reference. (b), (d) and the (e) grid incl. LOD-far: printed, not asserted. Nothing is tuned toward any contract: the fields, the grids (beyond the stated 6/K end), e = 0.2 and the seeds stay.",
"Predictions to confirm or refute (Imagination's rule from r2's printed rows: the LOD steps that evaluated noise are about snoise / 2.8 plus two pre-band steps; the rest were constant-body steps, which the analytic step makes one). Shipped void: steps per pixel 36.34 (ref) to about 12.5 (was 16.45), 2.6-3.3x fewer; snoise per pixel about 26.6, unchanged; combined cost about 1.38x (was 1.34x); envelope probes per tile about 50 (was 59.1). Grid, low camera, ref/LOD steps: S = 10 about 5-6x at Rh 100-400 and 11x at Rh 1000 (was 2.1-3.4x and 6.8x); S = 50 about 2.5x, 2.8x, 3.5x, 5.2x for Rh 100, 200, 400, 1000 (was 1.8, 2.2, 2.9, 4.5); S = 150 unchanged (rays end inside the 150-wide ramp before the body is proven). Rh 1000 centred S 10: about 30x (was 12.4x). LOD-far: printed, none predicted. If the shipped point lands under 2.6x, say which assumption failed: the pre-band's 0-snoise steps, or a body start later than Rc + 30 by box slack.",
"Compile and mutation checks as r2: Yggdrasil dotnet test (counts and every IV-REPORT line pasted); Stryker --since:43183276 -m math.Interval.cs from a plain clone with every timeout hand-run as in Finding 5; Starfire FXC cs_5_0 over every cultmath_iv_* on both HLSL copies and tools/get-dxc.ps1 then dxc -T lib_6_3 -HV 2021 on both, exit 0 (Soul could not re-run these for r2; they are re-run here because the HLSL changes). Carried and still out of scope, named in the report: the Unity CultMath.dll is not rebuilt; the Unity HLSL copies stay one blob with packages/cultmath/shaders; public asfloat(uint) stays. Main moved by docs only since 43183276's base (Imagination passes 3-3d and 4); say so. glsl-lowering r2 rebases onto this revision's head, not r2's (its fixture family for cultmath_iv_frustum_ball changes with the widening); its spec now says so."
